If you live in the Bay Area and know cars, then you have probably heard of Kjell Qvale. Or simply Mr. Q. An auto dealer since the 1940’s, Mr. Q brought the great English sports cars to Northern California, was one of the first Volkswagen dealers in the USA, started the SF Auto Show, influenced the development of Laguna Seca Raceway, and had his hand in more automotive endeavors than you can count.

He’s an amazing entrepreneur, and Lunches With Mr. Q by Kevin Nelson is a rare personal look at an amazing person. The book really is the telling of a series of lunches the author had with Mr. Q, and he shares some truly fun stories.

Well worth reading for any gear head or auto enthusiast. Don’t buy the Kindle version; the hardback has wonderful photos that make this a book you’ll want to thumb through.
