Hey all! You have probably heard about the hurricane damage done to the PathLight mission and conference center in Belize. Well, I have great news: the funds needed to repair the hurricane damage have been received or pledged! The response has been so fast and so encouraging … all of us at PathLight have smiles on our faces! Thanks to everybody who helped in this effort. The repairs are well underway and will be done in time for the busy season. Thank you again!
A special word of thanks to Paul Qualls, a friend of PathLight and member of our Advisory Board. Paul is a contractor, and he asked his employer to give him the time off to visit Belize and help with the rebuilding effort. His presence, along with Tono, the facility director, saved us thousands of dollars and accelerated the rebuilding process. Thank you, Paul!
The exciting part about having the funds raised for the repairs is that we can now return our focus to the needs of at-risk children. PathLight is about kids and that’s where we want to make a real difference. Education is a key to their success because it offers so many options beyond a life of manual labor or subsistence farming. The spiritual and academic formation that PathLight provides will be instrumental in shaping their lives.
There are fifty high school students in the PathLight program, and four of them are not yet sponsored. Most of these students are the first in their family to attend high school. I’m asking you to provide a gift to support these unsponsored students. It is easier than you might think and has a significant impact on their lives. There are several ways you can help:
– $10 can add a book to the library.
– $25 can provide a backpack.
– $50 can give a student a hot lunch for a month.
– $100 can offer dozens of students two weeks of tutoring.
– $150 can sponsor a student through an entire month of school.
Would you join PathLight in providing a gift like this for an at-risk student? Even a gift as little as $10 can make a big difference.
Please click on this link now to help. I’m hoping you will, because these students rely on your support.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year,
Roy
