I have several links for you to click today…trust me, you’ll have fun with this…
A lot of people who read this blog were supporters of my son when he went to Thailand last year. Jedd was there to create a video for The SOLD Project, which combats child prostitution in that country. Well, here’s the awesome news: Jedd was given the Volunteer Service Award by the Bay Area Professional Videographers Association!
What this means is that his work was so good it deserved recognition. And it means that those of you supported him are seeing great dividends because his work has raised the reputation and visibility of SOLD. Can’t ask for much more than that! So please click this link and read more about it on Jedd’s blog.
Others of you support my daughter, who lives in Thailand. She recently wrote about her experience over the past 8-months and it is well worth reading. It’s a reflective piece that shares the heartache of losing those you love and the joy of seeing new beginnings take root in Thailand. So click here and take a look.
Speaking of my daughter, her photography continues to grow more beautiful. She posted some photos of our winter wonderland time in Tahoe over Christmas. Spectacular. Take a look by clicking here.
If you subscribe to this blog you will sometimes miss out on posts about my reading list. I’ve been averaging about two books a week, so posting my reviews on the “main” page of my blog would create a lot of mail for my subscribers. Wanting to respect that, I have posted most of them on a different page of this blog. You can see the full list by clicking here; at the bottom of the page are links to all the book reviews I’ve written. It’s an eclectic list, ranging from the emergent thinking Donald Miller to the Harvard professor Youngme Moon to the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Hugh Shelton to a good mystery set in Lake Tahoe.
I was asked the other day what the “theme” was for my blog. Had to laugh at that one, because there really is no theme. My friend Mark Scandrette once said that I’m the “missing link” in society, meaning I can talk about business, ministry, global issues, wine, books, education, spiritual practices, and cultural shifts with some degree of competency. And lately, thanks to D’Aun, I’ve been building my knowledge of olive oil! Since the blog is a personal blog, then the theme is somewhere in the mix of all that. I don’t try to figure it out, I just have fun. I hope you do too.
