PathLight’s second class of seniors will be graduating from high school on May 29, 2012 and a great trip to Belize is planned to celebrate this event. This trip is always very popular and recently a couple of slots have opened up. This is an excellent chance to learn more about Belize, to see what PathLight is doing and to encourage our new graduates. D’Aun and I will be hosting this trip, along with directors Mark and Adrienne Parcher.
The itinerary looks like this:
May 27: Fly to Belize and then drive to PathLight’s mission and conference center for dinner and orientation. We will stay here two nights.
May 28: A walking tour of a village where PathLight works. Meet with the principal of a village school. The evening will be a highlight as the graduating PathLight students and their parents gather together with us for a celebration at PathLight’s conference center.
May 29: Experience more of how PathLight is working in Belize with various tours and meetings. This evening we will attend the graduation ceremonies in Belmopan, then we will check in to Chaa Creek Resort for a two night stay.
May 30: After breakfast will be a fascinating tour of Xunantunich, a Mayan ruin built almost 3000 years ago, followed by a free afternoon to enjoy the resort, shop, or head out and see more sights. In the evening we will have dinner together at the resort.
May 31: The “official” PathLight trip will conclude and we will head to the airport. However, you can extend the trip if you want to stay longer on your own.
The trip is going to be great, and I’d love to have you be a part of it. We will learn about the culture and history of the region, the efforts to bring economic justice to the country and the spiritual impact PathLight is making on students, their families, and their schools. I’m positive that you will go home excited about how God’s love is being expressed through the mission of PathLight.
The cost of the trip is $650 per person double occupancy plus airfare. This includes in-country transportation, lodging and all meals except lunch at the resort and lunch on departure day. You need to arrange for your own airfare (please schedule to arrive on May 27 and depart May 31). To secure your place on the trip you need to send a 50% deposit by April 9th and the balance due in full by April 27th.
This is a very special trip and I hope you will consider being a part of the celebration.
