Vineyard Harvest

It’s almost harvest time! Our vineyard manager says “late next week” should be perfect. This is our first harvest since moving to our new home, and we look forward to seeing the process begin. The Chardonnay is looking good this year, and the brix level is 22-23 depending on where and when you test it. So not only are the grapes tasting wonderful, there appears to be an above average yield.

Below are a few pictures you might enjoy.

Ready to harvest!
The reflective streamers are meant to keep the birds away.
Love the look of a healthy vineyard!
Most of the grapes are hidden by the leaves, but this bunch is growing down below.
One of the funnier ways to scare the birds!
Not sure what the 700 stands for, but our block of vineyard is #25 and represented here on the end post.
You know the harvest is really soon when a few of the grapes turn into raisins!

The northeast view. This is close to the view from our master bedroom.
The neighbors Merlot looks like a big crop as well!
