Harvest Photos

This is our first harvest here in our new vineyard home. Seems appropriate to share these photos, plus one short video at the end (which is hard to see…sorry!). The work started in the late afternoon and continued throughout the evening.

Love how this shows the grapes going into the bin and the leaves flying all over.
The tractor drives over the top of the vines, shaking them as it moves along, then shoots them into a bin being pulled by another tractor.
A long way to go as the evening arrives.
Evening falls. The hope is for 60-75 tons of chardonnay grapes from our vineyard.
Still filling up those bins!
Not a great picture, but it captures the scale and chaos of the operation at night.

Finally, here’s a 12-second video. It’s not much…taken with just an iPhone, from a distance, at night. But it gives you some idea of the noise and energy happening in the vineyard. If you subscribe to this blog via email and can’t see it, just click here to watch.
