My hope is that yesterday you had a wonderful Christmas Day filled with good memories!
The day after Christmas is when I like to ponder what memories were made. I try to let it sink in so that I will always remember the good things about the day. Sometimes those memories are deeply meaningful and even spiritual. But admittedly, sometimes they are simply about a lot of fun!
For instance, I will never forget the Christmas when my parents gave me a new bike. It was a candy apple red Sting Ray (this was the early 60’s, after all) and I couldn’t wait to get it outside to show my friends. I rode that bike for years (as you can tell from the photo taken a few years later). Mom and Dad always smiled when I talked about that bike.
Giving is part of Christmas, of course. But sometimes we forget that receiving is as much a part of Christmas as giving. A gracious recipient is a joy to behold. How I received that bike was as important as the joy my parents had in giving it.
With that in mind, I wanted to share how thankful I am for the gifts PathLight has received to this point. We are getting close to our goal of raising $35,000 this month so that we can match a $35,000 pledge. As of this morning we are at $29,452! The $70k for the 7th year goal is close!
There are only six days left to have your gift doubled, so I hope you can follow this link and help us out. Each dollar makes a difference in the life of a student, a teacher, and a volunteer!
After you do that, you can sit back and contemplate yesterday … hopefully to create good memories that you can keep forever.
