Family, Random Thoughts,

Views of Summer

It has been an amazing summer. September is a wonderful month — the weather is often the best of the year. But it also makes me pause and realize summer is nearly over. Tonight they harvest our grapes, so I guess it really is Fall.

Thought I’d share a few of the amazing sunsets, wildlife, and cloud formations we have seen in and around the vineyard this past summer. None of these were taken with a filter or edited.

I’ll start with the most recent, a photo I took Sunday night of the Mount Diablo fire.

Mount Diablo

Keep in mind this is nearly 20-miles away. Later in the evening it looked even more ominous!

The color is gorgeous, and the clouds made me think God was skywriting.

Candles

Another wonderful dinner party outlasts the candles.

There's something whimsical about these clouds, as if they are kids laughing and playing.

I was stunned when I saw this photo on my computer. It looks like an early California plein air painting!

So which one is your favorite? I’m torn between this plein air lookalike, the swimming pool, and the bocce players. How about you?
