A few years ago I attended a gallery opening my daughter organized and was impressed with the work of Casey MacKenzie Johnson. Casey is a bundle of energy, with a touch of flamboyance and an infectious smile. In Casey’s world anything is possible, especially if she has a camera in hand. D’Aun and I purchased a beautiful and powerful photograph from her recent trip to Haiti.
Last month we were in London where Casey is now finishing her MA in Photography at the London College of Fashion. We met her on the steps of St. Paul and walked to a nearby pub for lunch.
She was the same Casey we remembered, full of love for life and seeing every new experience as a grand adventure. And she was sparkly, as in she gave us both big hugs and we were covered in the sparkly glitter that came off her jacket. That’s Casey — she spreads her sparkle everywhere.
With high hopes and great excitement, Casey told us about Baptised by Blood, her exhibition coming up on November 27 in London. She’s been working for months (years?) on this and it’s going to be fantastic.
But she needs our help to pull it off so has started a Kickstarter campaign. I believe in Casey so I decided to help. Hopefully you will as well. Trust me, this is a young woman worthy of the investment. So follow this link, learn about her exhibition, and help as you can.
And maybe, as you click the buttons to support her, you’ll find yourself covered in a bit of glitter!
