So the crazy shopping season is about to begin — or maybe it already has for some of you. With Black Friday and Cyber Monday and all the rest just around the corner, I wanted to share a few ways your shopping can have a more meaningful impact.
First, remember you can shop Amazon.com through this blog and a referral fee is sent back to me. I will then use that to fund PathLight. See the Amazon logo just to the left of this post? Use that and it tracks you for that one shopping visit. All of the links from my Book Reviews site do the same thing.
Second, you can visit Amazon Smile, select a non-profit organization, then they receive a percentage of your purchase. It’s a small amount — something like a half a percent, so you need to spend $1000 to earn just $5 for your charity. But it’s better than nothing!
Third, my favorite online wine retailer is Invino.com. If you click this link it knows you were invited by me, and when you purchase wine I get a tiny credit. Again, I will send this credit to PathLight or use it to buy things PathLight can put into an auction. Invino has some good wine deals from time to time, and they have a system to track the kind of wine you are most interested in.
Fourth, my daughters organization The SOLD Project has an online store with some fun things. Great place to find gifts, and the proceeds fund programs to prevent human trafficking.
So there are four simple options for your holiday shopping. Hope this helps, and thanks for using them!
