I’m in the midst of collecting endorsements for my book and one word keeps coming to mind.
Thankful.
I’m truly thankful for the people who have taken the time to read the draft, reflect on the content, and write a few words of support. I’m thankful my life is filled with such generous people. People who enrich my life with their ideas, their energy, their love. I am blessed, and I am thankful.
The first official endorsement came from Tony Campolo, who has always been there to support me. Then one from Bob Goff, a friend since elementary school. And then Brenda Salter-McNeil, who (outside of family) was the biggest cheerleader for the book.
The list continued. Everybody I asked agreed to help in some way, even those who barely know me. Shane Claiborne. Jacquelline Fuller. Mark Zoradi. Ed Birch. Ken Wytsma. Mark Labberton. Mary Andringa.
Curious what they are saying about the book? Here’s a sample from David Livermore, PhD, author of Serving With Eyes Wide Open and Leading With Cultural Intelligence.
“Roy Goble could easily be sipping wine and enjoying the good life. In some ways he does. But not at the expense of stewarding well the opportunities he’s been given. I research and write about global issues and cultural intelligence. Roy lives it. And that comes through in the pages of the books he’s written. Funny, challenging, and grace-filled are just a few words that describe what’s here. Enjoy and be inspired. That’s what happened to me from reading it!”
I read words like that and am thankful. Humbled. Blessed. Thank you, David, for the kind words. And thank you to all who took the time to help. Asking for book endorsements is humbling, and so many good friends responded with incredible graciousness. I am thankful.
