So What Are People Saying About Junkyard Wisdom?

I’m way too lazy to do a real book tour. But a blog tour sounds doable!

Maybe you remember the days when authors would go on book tours. They’d show up at the local bookstore to talk or read from their book, sign a few copies, and then head on to the next town. Some still do that.

But the more efficient way is to do a blog tour — a combination of interviews, reviews, conversations, even podcasts, all from the comfort of my computer screen. I get fewer frequent flyer miles, but it’s far easier!

Below are several blogs that reviewed Junkyard Wisdom, or in one case recorded a podcast. Some of the blogs aren’t up yet but they will be soon. Take a look and let me know what you think! Just click on the pictures and it will take you to the post. Thanks!

Jake Sasseville loves life. And wow, does he get a lot of stuff done! He invited me onto his podcast and we had an amazingly fun 30-minute interview. Once you get past the mattress commercial, this is worth listening to, folks!
Nobody is cooler than Brenda Salter-McNeil. A dear friend who teaches me about racial reconciliation, she’s a very successful author who is going to review my book. Look for updates on Facebook, and check out her blog for updates!
When I thought about going to Myanmar, everybody said I should talk to Chris Scott. A year later I was sitting in a house church near Thaton, Myanmar, with Chris. The experience made it into the book. I love how Chris’ review expresses his own wrestling with wealth.
Scott Rodin has been writing about wealth, stewardship, spirituality, and faith for a lot longer than I have. It’s an honor that he’d allow me to guest blog for him on The Stewards Journey!
I admit to bias. My daughter Rachel has a great blog and she asked some of the most insightful questions of any interviewer. Which is no surprise — who knows you better than your kids?
Ken Wytsma drives me nuts. He’s wicked smart with several great books, and has launched a church, a college, the Justice Conference…and he’s a decade+ younger than me! But at least he invited me as a guest blogger.
Rachel Starr Thomson was the editor of my book. I was terrified about what she’d say, but she loved it! And she asked me to guest blog for her, which is a real honor.
Beyond the Red Chair is the blog my friend Emily Nelson launched a few years ago. Emily serves with me on the board of The SOLD Project and is one of the most engaged people I know in the area of justice and compassion. She plans to post a video interview in a couple of weeks.
Red Letter Christians is a platform for Shane Claiborne, Tony Campolo, and their friends. This is a thoughtful post about privilege that includes a review of my book by Ken Wytsma.
John Merritt was my pastor for a decade or so. Yes, pray for him, he’s still in recovery from it all. Sorry John! Even so, he agreed to write about my book and has good things to say.
I met Kevin Knox over a decade ago when he started Mosaic Bay. It’s a new church for a new era, and their blog is filled with insights going beyond the theological or “self-help” topics of most church blogs. Kevin tells me the blog will go up on October 12.
Mark Roberts is the executive director of the Max De Pree Center for Leadership at Fuller Seminary. Mark asked me to write four devotionals for their daily Life for Leaders series. They come out September 30, October 7, 14, and 21. Subscribe to the daily email!
