Wealth, wisdom, and howler monkeys? Well yes, actually, they do go together.
A year ago D’Aun and I, along with Ken and Tamara Wytsma, hosted an event called Junkyard Wisdom Belize. Two dozen folks joined us for 5-days of discussion, adventure, prayer, and going deep into the themes of my book. We did this at the amazing Jaguar Creek, where howler monkeys regularly wake people in the morning.
So yeah, they all do go together!
As you read this we are probably on our way to Belize to host the second annual event. We will again spend five days seeking a deeper understanding of justice and how it relates to wealth, poverty, generosity, and faith. From Jaguar Creek we will explore Mayan ruins, rainforest villages, and even a … well there are a few fun surprises we have in store for our guests!
Want to help make this an amazing trip? I’d really value your prayer during this event. We’re taking 20+ people into the rainforest and hosting conversations around themes that make us all a bit uncomfortable (seriously, these days people are more comfortable talking with strangers about sexuality than talking with strangers about money). We want to create a place where people can honestly and authentically discuss their faith, lives, and values.
Creating such an environment takes prayer. So we would deeply appreciate your prayers from February 15-19 as we host this event. If you want specific prayer requests, send me an email and I’ll share a few.
Thank you — the people who read this blog regularly are usually my favorite people, and I’m truly thankful for your presence in my life.
I’ll send updates if I can, and hope to post regularly on Instagram, Twitter, and/or Facebook. Follow along!
