Happy summer! I’ve got a few things to share with you.
First, I’ve pulled all the Pop’s Pool Hall devotions into one place on this blog. Hopefully it’s easier than bouncing from post to post. You can access them here.
On another topic, you probably heard about the amazing news from Belize. A few years back, I asked the Junkyard Wisdom™ community to support a promising student, Alexandria, through her first year of high school in Belize. Your generosity blew me away. You funded not just one year, but four years, and her college education! And guess what? Last week, Alexandria graduated from high school—with honors, of course! Below is a picture of her with the laptop you gave her as a graduation gift.
Alexandria is remarkable. I really wish you could meet her. Her peers revere her. Her mentors speak of her with awe. Her grades are remarkable. Her faith is incredibly deep and mature for a teenager. I’m not prone to hyperbole, so take me seriously when I say that I believe Alexandria will change Belize. She is that remarkable.
You may have also heard that a new devotion series is coming soon. A few years ago I shared a Generosity Road Trip devotion series. Like many of my devotions, it begins with a silly premise that I hope will steer us to some deeper truths. Most of you haven’t read this devotion series because it was a short, one-time release and was sent to a smaller audience.
I’m going to re-release this series beginning July 22. Hopefully you enjoy the idea of a trip around the Mediterranean as we explore some of the best-known characters in the Bible and what they had to say about generosity. So pack your bags and prepare to go!
I do have a third bit of news to share, but you’ll have to wait on that.
Here’s the picture of Alexandria I promised.
