Progress on the Book

Today is the last day of my writing sabbatical and I head home this afternoon. The book is coming together really well and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with David. We worked well together with many laughs and almost no disagreements. And the result is we have a solid working outline, more stories than we know what to do with, and all the Scripture references to back up the lessons in the stories.

Grease Under My Fingernails

There was grease under my fingernails when I woke this morning. Not that I did much mechanical work, but a weekend cleaning the garage meant handling a lot of tools. Even after two showers and countless hand washings, the smudge of grease is still in the edges.

Four years ago I took a month-long sabbatical to consider where to invest future energies. Great friends offered advice, shared their ideas, and asked me tough questions.

One of the questions often asked was, “Why not write a book?”  I chuckled at the suggestion and pushed it aside.
