My Books

So I’ve written a few books. My latest is Junkyard Wisdom Advent: Authentic, Daily Devotions About the Human, Humorous, and Sometimes Messy Side of the Advent Story. Yes of course I’m biased, but I love this book. I think you will too. Each chapter, one for each day of Advent, looks at the human side of Advent. On the way to Bethlehem, did they get lost? Did Mary’s parents have doubts? Did she have pregnancy urges for ice cream? It’s all in good fun, but it also pushes us to think more deeply about a story that’s been around for 2000 years.

My other books, Salvaged: Leadership Lessons Pulled From the Junkyard, was released in early 2019, and Junkyard Wisdom Rebuilt: Resisting the Whisper of Wealth in a World of Broken Parts, is now available.

Rebuilt, as I like to call it, explores the power, potential, and temptation of wealth … and how we might live a more meaningful life by breaking down the walls wealth creates around us.

Salvaged is about leadership lessons I’ve learned in some six decades of living. The aim is to both amuse you with crazy stories, glean a leadership lesson in the process, and understand the Biblical relevance of the leadership lesson. Obviously it is a different book than Junkyard Wisdom, but it still has some of the same themes  — things like embracing the tension in life and celebrating what seems like contradiction.

I send out semi-regular updates about my writing and you can subscribe below. Usually weekly, and I promise rarely more than that! It would be fun to stay connected, and of course hearing what you think of my books would be great.
